One Killed, One Critical After Crashing Into Pole In Maryland

One person is dead and a second injured after a violent car crash in Prince George's County on Friday morning.

The crash was reported in the 9100 block of Ardwick Ardmore Road.

Shortly after 8 a.m. on Friday, officers from the Prince George's County Police Department were called to the 9100 block of Ardwick Ardmore Road in Springdale to investigate a single-vehicle crash when a driver struck a pole and nearly sheared the vehicle in half.

Police say that the driver was pronounced dead at the scene and a passenger was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition.

It is unclear what caused the crash, which remains under investigation.
